The first photo of the salon of the new huge Volkswagen SUV has appearedSeptember 15, 2020
Volkswagen will launch a new 5100mm full-size cross next year, making it the longest SUV in the brand’s history – 60mm longer than the Atlas.
Today, September 15, photos of working concepts of a promising cross, which were made in China during resource tests, were published on the Internet. In addition, a photo of the interior was also shared for the first time.
In the car, the photo shows the shapes and features of the Volkswagen SMV, in other words, there will be no differences between the production car and the show car. The MQB architecture is at the heart of the full-size cross. The car can accommodate up to seven adults, the seating formula is traditional – 2 + 3 + 2.
Judging by the photo of the interior, the front panel of the interior will acquire a horizontal architecture. The typical center console will be replaced by a protruding block that houses the transmission and transmission controller. There is no central tunnel in its usual sense between the front seats; this space will be occupied by cup holders and an additional compartment for small items.
What name the serial crossover will receive is not reported at the moment. It is assumed that the car will be driven by gasoline units with a volume of 2.0 liters (turbo) and 2.5 liters (atmospheric) in conjunction with a preselective 7-speed robotized gearbox and an all-wheel drive system.
The main market for the novelty is the PRC, where they are also going to establish its serial production – at the FAW-Volkswagen JV. The new model is expected to go on sale in early 2021.
In addition, it was recently noted that they want to establish the production of electric cars of the German Volkswagen corporation in Ukraine. It should be emphasized that we are talking about the Ukrainian plant “Eurocar”, which assembles Skoda with internal combustion engines, in particular, Karoq and Kodiaq SUV.
