The first Nissan Ariya prototypes arrive in EuropeOctober 31, 2020
Nissan has shipped the first few production examples of the all-electric coupe-crossover Ariya to Europe.
Nissan Ariya is arriving in Europe for the first time since its world debut in July at Nissan’s global headquarters in Yokohama, Japan. According to the automaker, he brought Ariya to the Old Continent to interest customers in the region.
“We are delighted to see Ariya prototypes arrive in Europe. These versions will be used as demonstration vehicles and some of them are also intended for testing at Nissan premises. We see how beautiful this car looks and we can’t wait to share more details in the coming months, ”said Helen Perry, General Marketing Manager, Electric Cars, Nissan Europe.
Nissan will offer five versions of the Ariya to European buyers. According to the company, the all-electric coupe-crossover is “perfect for the European buyer.” The Ariya will be available in the second half of 2021 in Europe, and so far the automaker has confirmed that it will have two rear-wheel drive variants and two four-wheel drive variants.
The base rear-wheel drive model will combine a 215 hp electric motor. and a torque of 300 Nm with a 65 kWh battery. According to test results in Japan, this version has a range of 450 km. The next will be the more powerful 239bhp rear-wheel drive variant, powered by a 90kWh battery with a range of 610km.
The entry-level four-wheel drive model will be powered by a 65 kWh battery and two electric motors delivering 335 hp in total. and 560 Nm of torque. This model will have the lowest range at 430 km. Finally, the superior AWD Ariya combines a 90 kWh battery with two electric motors to deliver 389 hp system power output. and 600 Nm of torque. This variant will be able to travel 580 km on a single battery charge.
