The first images of the younger model of the crossover MaseratiJuly 16, 2018
Earlier it became known that the company Maserati in the next five years will actively develop, and in the near future the younger model of the crossover can be introduced. Now the information is very small, but independent experts and designers decided to present their own vision of the future novelty.
During the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles shareholders’ meeting in June 2018, FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne spoke about the future of Maserati. So, until 2022, several new models will be presented, Ghibili and Quattroporte will receive a new generation, and the Levante SUV will receive a “younger brother”. Of course, while the information on the future crossover is very small, but experts based on rumors and current corporate design decided to present the possible image of the junior Maserati cross-country.
According to preliminary information it is known that the future SUV will have an ideal weight distribution of 50:50 between the front and rear axle. And it will be built on the basis of a new lightweight platform. In addition, it will also have a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio. In the line of power units will be present classic ICE with turbines, as well as moderate and plug-in hybrids.
Judging by the presented images, the design of the car will be very similar to the Levante, but in a more compact size. And the car received a radiator grille in a modern corporate style, suggesting that the company will not change it yet. Apparently, the clearance will be less compared to the older model, and will receive branded alloy wheels at 17 or 18 inches.
Experts suggest that the future possible novelty can get a three-liter Ferrari engine used in the Ghibli coupe. The engine is capable of developing up to 430 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque. And this power will be more than enough, provided that Maserati will still build a crossover based on an easy platform.
Of course, it is still unknown even the name, so it’s still early to talk about any terms, as well as prices and bundlings, but as soon as additional information appears, we will immediately let you know.
