A newest car Kia Sportage with a revolutionary design will follow the stunning new Hyundai Tucson.

It’s no secret that Kia is developing the next generation Sportage. We were able to see the novelty for the first time in August this year, but since then the South Korean manufacturer has been doing a rather secretive work on research and development. A month after the debut of the new Sportage in spy photos, we received confirmation that the production-ready car will debut in April next year.

Putting all the little pieces of the puzzle together and inspired by the new Hyundai Tucson, designer AtchaCars has put together a pretty believable illustration of what the new Sportage could look like. It turned out very well and we hope that the real crossover will be similar to these renders.

The new Sportage is expected to be very similar to the Tucson in profile, but the former will be less dramatic in details. The body lines of the novelty will be smoother and simpler. Like the Tucson, the new Sportage will have a sloping rear roof section, the designer said.

In terms of dimensions, the South Korean SUV should be slightly longer than the previous model in order to provide more space in the cabin. One thing’s for sure: the side mirrors will be positioned slightly lower on the doors rather than at the base of the A-pillar.

It’s safe to assume that the fifth generation Sportage (codenamed NQ5) will get the engine lineup and technology range of the new Tucson. This means that, depending on the region, 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol and diesel engines with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive should be available in Europe, as well as a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder and a 1.6-liter hybrid unit. for North America. The plug-in hybrid is also expected to join the lineup at a later date.
