The first images of the new Corvette in a powerful performance ZR1July 22, 2019
Design Studio X-Tomi Design has published on its Facebook page a render that shows how the new generation of the sports coupe (index C8) may look like in its most powerful version.
The American sports coupe Chevrolet Corvette 2020 model is already presented – the show was held on July 18 of this year. And independent artists are already looking into the future – the guys have fantasized on the topic: “what will the new product look like in a more powerful performance of the ZR1?”. It is worth recalling that the latest integration of the model with the prefix ZR1 debuted in 2017, having a 755-horsepower LT5 V8 supercharged engine located in front of the car and a giant wing at the back of its hood.
Design Studio X-Tomi Design has published on its Facebook page a render that shows how the new generation of the sports coupe (index C8) may look like in its most powerful version. So, the car presented here looks, of course, very aggressive, although a very high hood is rather meaningless, since the engine is behind the driver. Perhaps this design may offer a slightly larger load capacity in the front “vault”. The idea is to give the new look to the current C8, making it very similar to the powerful C7 ZR1, and from the iconic hood to the front splitter and the large wing in the back, the designers were able to repeat everything.
It is unlikely that such a machine will ever exist. With the advent of the mid-engine Corvette, there is an assumption that the need for a more powerful version of the ZR1 may disappear altogether.
The place of this modification may be taken by the recently introduced Corvette Zora, named, of course, in honor of engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov. It is likely that such a car will receive a powerful twin-turbocharged V8 coupled to an electric motor in a hybrid configuration and all-wheel drive. Well, rumors of a 1000 hp Corvette persist for at least a couple of years, although, if such a machine is revived, it will probably not be realized for at least a few more years.
Not so long ago, we wrote that the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Roadster was officially declassified before a public debut. The standard model is already presented in the back of the targa. It implies a removable middle part of the roof, which is hidden in the trunk in manual mode. But at the end of the presentation, the company decided to show a roadster with an electric folding roof.
