The first images of the Kia Sedona 2021 minivan appeared on the webJune 23, 2020
Artists presented their vision of what a South Korean minivan Kia Sedona 2021 model year could be. Nothing is known about the date of the official presentation of the novelty.
The appearance of the updated version of the Kia Sedona minivan, which is also known as Carnival in other markets, can certainly be called inevitable. There is no doubt that the novelty will receive branded sliding side doors and a recognizable profile. And now we have a new product rendering that is trying to guess the features of a completely new version of the model.
These visualizations are taken from the AtchaCars YouTube channel and are based on a recent sketch teaser published by Kia itself. Such sketches usually exaggerate design features such as wheel sizes, but still, these visualizations give a real look of artistic transformation.
We showed the minivan from several angles, demonstrating its square shape and the huge size of the tiger nose false radiator grille, surrounded by narrow headlights.
The design does not look much different compared to the current version of the Sedona minivan, but it should be a completely different car from a technical point of view. Our sources inform us that the car platform is the same “cart” on which the updated Hyundai Sonata and Kia Optima are built, and there will be a place for a hybrid power plant in it, which may appear in the future. We believe that at the start of sales, Kia will offer customers a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
We also suspect that the new Sedona minivan will be slightly larger in size, although the official sketch and rendered data do not reflect this. This would be a small change, but a slightly “stretched” wheelbase should give the minivan more room inside for passengers. More space is never bad if you are talking about a seven-seater car.
We still do not have an official message from Kia about when and where the updated Kia Sedona minivan will be shown.
