It is now known that Porsche will introduce the all-electric version of the Macan crossover in 2021. Although in the end it may get a different name, the car will be positioned in the model range of the company in the same way as now. According to Lutz Meschke, Porsche Deputy Chairman of the Board, crossover with a traditional internal combustion engine will continue to be offered to customers. He said that two versions of the same model would coexist peacefully for a couple of years.
Independent artist from YouTube channel Sketch Monkey presented his version of the zero-emission crossover, he decided to add some design features to the exterior of the new Macan EV all-electric Porsche Taycan sedan.
Official representatives of the German automaker have already said that the first electric crossover of the company will have a completely different appearance than the performance of a crossover with an internal combustion engine.
These two cars will also be very different in technical terms. Macan EV is built on the basis of Volkswagen Group Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, which is intended only for electric vehicles. Porsche and Audi engineers are jointly developing it for future mid-size models.
The Macan EV is expected to go on sale in the Turbo and Turbo S specs. The latter can have up to 700 horsepower (1016 Nm). Less powerful versions are also expected.
