The first image of the Ferrari 812 Superfast RoadsterSeptember 8, 2019
Instagram posted a new front-engined Ferrari V12 with open top
Appearance Ferrari 812 Superfast Spider unveiled before the official premiere. One of the customers of the Italian brand posted a photo of the new “Spider” with a closed presentation of Ferrari.
The picture published on social networks does not allow judging the roof structure: the 812 Spider can get both removable panels and a folding hard top. You can distinguish a roadster from the usual 812 by the modified rear aft without small triangular “windows” behind the doors, a reinforced front desk and additional supports behind the seatbacks.
Insiders claim that the Ferrari 812 Superfast Spider will officially unveil September 9 and the new product will be named 812 GTS. The technical stuffing of a supercar with a 6.5-liter V12 and a 7-speed robotic transmission will not change. As with the coupe, the naturally aspirated engine will produce at least 800 horsepower and 718 Nm of torque. Perhaps engine performance will increase by a symbolic 10 horsepower and 1 Nm of torque, as on the exclusive speedster SP1 and SP2.
The 812 Superfast-based spider will be the first production Ferrari front-wheel supercar with an open top and V12 engine. Previously, roadsters of similar architecture were the lot of limited versions – Ferrari F12 TRS and Ferrari F60 America can be considered direct predecessors.
At the beginning of this year, Ferrari president confirmed the appearance of five new models: the F8 Tributo coupe debuted first, then introduced the SF90 Stradale hypercar, until the end of September the 812 GTS and F8 Spider will be released, and the final novelty – a hybrid supercar with V6 – will be presented in November.
