Traditionally, the January Barrett-Jackson Auction is held in Scottsdale, Arizona. As part of this event, unique lots are sold, and proceeds are sent to various charity events. Already on January 18, there will be a unique opportunity for fans of Mustangs – the first copy of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 2020 model year will be the lot.
The winner of the auction, in addition to the car, will be able to choose the color of the body, as well as additional options. The money will go to help the Childhood Diabetes Research Foundation to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. Edsel Ford II and Aaron Shelby will be on stage to increase interest and try to raise the cost.
The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 2020 model year itself will be presented at the Detroit Motor Show on January 14th. Under the hood will be installed 5.2-liter turbo engine, whose power will be more than 700 horsepower (perhaps 720 hp), with a torque of 650 Nm.
Judging by the spy photos and preliminary render, the car will get a more aggressive design in a modern style that combines the spirit of classic muscle cars.
At the same time, someone decided that the design of the Lamborghini Gallardo is not as “cool” as the Ford Mustang, but the “Mustang” is not as cool as the “Galardo”. Therefore, he decided to cross them.
