The first flying electric car from Terrafugia will be on sale in 2019July 20, 2018
Terrafugia Transition is a hybrid hybrid electric car that uses a propeller as its driving force. The device with folding wings is similar to an airplane, while it is able to drive both on ordinary highways as a hybrid electric car, and fly at speeds up to 160 kilometers per hour.
The modification of Transition, which is planned to be produced for mass production, will receive a number of improvements in comparison with the versions of its predecessors. The creators gave her opportunities to accelerate in the air regime, built a full-fledged parachute system, modernized avionics. In addition, the interior will be more convenient for both the pilot and his passengers.
A flying electric car will be able to move at an altitude of 3 kilometers and gain speed of about 160 kilometers per hour. Its aircraft engine Rotax consumes about 23 liters per hour. Fuel is enough for about 650 kilometers of flight.
Currently, the manufacturer does not specify at what price customers will be cheated buying a flying car, and how many copies are planned to be released.
The developers argue that the flying Transition will meet all the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the United States, especially for emergency rescue equipment.
Live visitors to the Terrafugia Transition can be guests of the international air show EAA AirVenture, which will be held from 23 to 29 July in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in the United States.
