The first electric Volvo will be the crossover XC40June 26, 2018
Crossover Volvo XC40 will be the first fully electric model of the Swedish brand. “Green” SUV debuts after the subbrand Polestar unveils its second car – a medium-sized electric car “2”. About this, with reference to the chief designer of Volvo Thomas Inggenat, Autocar reports.
According to Ингенлата, after electric XC40 on the market there will be BEV-updating of an off-road car XC90 of following generation. At the same time, the company does not plan to produce individual models of electric vehicles, but will offer battery versions as an addition to the existing line.
In the winter, information appeared that Volvo would no longer invest in the development of internal combustion engines. Instead, the brand intends from 2019 to release for each model at least two hybrid modifications, using modified versions of current aggregates.
