The first electric Jaguar fight with the Tesla Model XMarch 2, 2018
The company Jaguar published a video in which the first serial electric car of the British brand – I-Pace – competes in the dispersal with the crossover Tesla Model X. The video was posted on the official YouTube channel of the automaker.
The electric car Jaguar I-Pace was operated by the pilot of the Formula E team of Panasonic Jaguar Racing Mitch Evans, while the Brazilian Tony Kanaan, who won the race “500 miles of Indianapolis” in 2013, was driving the Tesla. The cars competed in the acceleration from the place to 96 km / h and the subsequent braking.
In the first race, the Jaguar was opposed by the base Model X with a 329-horsepower electric motor. When the speed limit reached 96 km / h, the British electric car was on the whole body ahead of the American crossover. In the second race, I-Pace competed with the top model modification of the Model X 100D – with two electric aggregates giving out a total of 775 hp. In this race, the British electric car beat Tesla by half its own length.
Serial Jaguar I-Pace was introduced on Thursday, March 1. The electric crossover has received a set of lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 90 kWh, which allow driving on a single charge capable of driving up to 480 km.
At the same time, the novelty supports a quick recharging system, where the batteries can be replenished from 0 to 80% in 40 minutes. From a standard outlet, the crossover is charged for 10 hours. In Jaguar, I promised that I-Pace will function normally at high negative temperatures. The new crossover has two electric motors (200 hp each) on each axis. From the place to 100 km / h Jaguar I-Pace accelerates in 4.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is forcibly limited to 200 km per hour.
