The FIA approved a series of races on the 784-strong Tesla Model S P100DsFebruary 4, 2018
The International Motor Sport Federation of the FIA authorized a new EPCS racing series in which pilots will compete in the prepared electric vehicles Tesla Model S P100Ds.
The new series is called the Electric Production Car Series (EPCS). For these competitions is the company Electric GT Holdings. She will be in charge of management. According to the representatives of the company, the race weekend of this series will consist of two training sessions, three-level qualification and two 60-kilometer races. One of them will be held in the daytime, and the second – at dusk.
The scoring system was borrowed from Formula 1. The winner of the race gets 25 points, and the racer in 10th place – 1 point. However, bonus points will also be awarded for the pole position, the fastest racing circuit and the victory in the so-called “Drift Off” competition.
The racing car for EPCS is the electric car Tesla Model S P100Ds. Its capacity is 784 horsepower. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.1 seconds due to the significantly reduced weight.
