On the YouTube-channel Cars Evolution appeared another video, dedicated to the history of famous brands and models. This time a video is published which shows the development and major modifications of the American supercar Dodge Viper (also produced under the SRT brand).
The very first supercar wore a Phase SR I index and was produced from 1992 to 1995. It was equipped with a 405-horsepower eight-liter V10 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. The car could accelerate from place to 96 km / h in 4.6 seconds. In 1996, a more powerful version with a 421-horsepower engine appeared, ands a GTS-modification with a motor, boosted to 450 hp.
The second-generation Dodge Viper has already been equipped with a larger 8.3-liter unit delivering 500 hp and 712 Nm of torque. The novelty was the first in the history of Viper, capable of accelerating to 96 km / h faster than four seconds.
The latest generation model was introduced in 2012 and up to the middle of 2014 it was produced under the SRT brand. The supercar was equipped with an 8.4-liter atmospheric V10 engine developing 654 hp. and 814 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Supercar can accelerate from place to 96 km / h in three seconds. In August 2017, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles closed the production of Viper.
