The eighth generation of the Volkswagen Golf is again postponedApril 26, 2019
Earlier, the debut of the expected novelty was assigned to the Frankfurt Automobile Salon in September 2019. However, now the company has told about some problems and promises to show the car before the end of this year. Start of sales is not delayed.
Despite the fact that Volkswagen Golf has been in development for quite some time, the company has some difficulties with new technologies. Due to problems with a fundamentally new approach to car software, the concern postpones debut indefinitely. Earlier, the first public show was supposed in September 2019 in Frankfurt.
Officials reported experiencing difficulties in providing software updates over the air. Details are not disclosed, but it can be assumed that difficulties arise in the organization of a simple process for the owner, as well as ensuring his safety.
At the moment, Volkswagen is not postponing the start of sales and mass production, which will begin next year. Although the novelty will be a fairly niche product with a planned circulation of 10,000 units for the whole of the next year.
The first market will be Germany and all of Europe. After that, deliveries will begin in other countries.
Meanwhile, Volkswagen and JAC will build an electric car factory in China. The size of investment in the project today is estimated at 750 million dollars. The joint venture of the two automakers will be located in eastern China.
