The driver of a heavy truck trusted the navigator and brought down the bridgeAugust 19, 2020
An unpleasant incident took place in the US state of Missouri. This story has received widespread publicity through social media. The driver, who was driving a 40-ton heavy truck, decided to take a shortcut with the help of a navigator. Nothing good came of it.
In the United States, a multi-ton truck driver who found a short bypass road through a navigator eventually collapsed a bridge across a river. He simply could not bear the weight of the truck, writes The Drive.
The driver did not want to waste time in a traffic jam on the highway and decided to “cut”. At first, the navigator led the American along a forest road, which eventually ended with a crossing of the river. The design of the bridge did not bother the driver, and he continued on his way.
As soon as the loaded transport entered the bridge, it collapsed. Behind him went the cabin and half of the cargo compartment of the heavy truck. A road patrol was called to the scene of the emergency.
The specialists noted that this bridge was in good condition, adding that it was not intended for trucks. The maximum weight of a car that the ferry can withstand is five tons.
The truck weighing 40 tons was carrying another 20 tons of cargo. It is known that the truck driver was not injured. From this story, he learned a valuable lesson for himself: you should not blindly trust the navigator.
