The driver doubled the speed, running away from the coronavirusApril 21, 2020
On the M25 motorway near London, police detained a driver who was racing at speeds of more than 210 kilometers per hour.
British police stopped a car on the M25 motorway near London that was traveling at a speed of more than 210 kilometers per hour with a half-time limit. It turned out that his driver was twice as fast as running away from the coronavirus. At least that is how he explained his illegal act to officers. “I thought that the faster I drive, the less chance I have of contracting a coronavirus,” the driver said in all seriousness during the arrest. Now he has to make excuses in court.
The UK police are worried that there has been a noticeable increase in speeding offenses, despite quarantine in the kingdom and a ban on driving without emergency. Obviously, empty roads are too much a temptation for violators of the law – especially the M25 highway, which at normal times cannot be accelerated even to the permitted speed due to its constant workload.
