The developer of racing Mercedes will help build the most extreme atmospheric hypercarApril 18, 2019
Apollo Automobili has an agreement with HWA AG
Apollo Automobili has prepared a number of improvements for the production version of the Intensa Emozione hypercar. A two-door with a 780-hp atmospheric V12 engine will be assembled at the factory by a partner of Mercedes-AMG company HWA AG, which participated in the creation of the Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR. The first deliveries to buyers will begin in the summer.
The serial Apollo Intensa Emozione will receive a new carbon fiber monocoque with an integrated fuel tank and an integrated fire extinguishing system. It was developed with the participation of a long-standing partner of Mercedes-AMG in motor sports HWA AG and the Capricorn Group – the company that created the monocoque for the Leman Porsche 919 LMP1. The chassis is handcrafted and complies with FIA LMP2 safety requirements.
The platform received a modular design, reinforced front struts, carbon security zones and a completely new front suspension, the attachment points of which are integrated into the power structure. The H-shaped fuel tank is also part of the chassis: it is wrapped in a carbon-kevlar cell and installed in the rear of the monocoque. Pipelines fire extinguishing systems are located in the cabin and the engine compartment, and new hinges make it easy to unfasten the door in case of a coup machine.
Apollo Intensa Emozione will drive a 6.3-liter V12 with 780 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque. The box is a six-speed sequencer Hewland with variable gear ratios and electropneumatic shift paddles. Up to 100 km/h Apollo IE accelerates in 2.7 seconds. Maximum speed – 335 kilometers per hour.
