As part of his video, designer Frank Stephenson, who came up with what the original Maserati MC12 supercar will look like, talks about what he thinks about the appearance of the new Maserati MC20.

Built on an Enzo chassis, the Italian Maserati MC12 coupe was a sports car that went on sale in a limited edition. This car rightfully left its mark on the history of the brand. But apart from its rarity and enormous performance, the MC12 was also known for its distinctive overall design – thanks to its designer Frank Stephenson.

Mr. Stevenson has his own YouTube channel, where he evaluates the design of many famous cars.

His latest video presents his take on the new Maserati MC20. As Stevenson said, the latest supercar from Maserati is beautiful, but it “lacks Italian tradition, essence or character of the Italian car”. He called this “Italian”.

He also believed that the design lacked an emotional dimension and outstanding elements that would make a car feel. Moreover, he thought the design was too general and required “salt, pepper and some spices.”

Stephenson went on to mention some of the standout features that were in the original MC12, including the large bonnet vents, the chopped-off rear, and the massive wing. “The new MC20 lacks the aforementioned dramatic design elements, with the exception of the butterfly doors,” added Mr Stephenson.

Not so long ago, our publication wrote that Maserati has updated its corporate logo. We can see the new version of the trident on the recently presented MC20 supercar.
