The design of the smallest crossover DS was revealed on patent imagesJuly 10, 2018
In the network appeared patent images of the smallest crossover in the line of the French brand DS – DS 3 Crossback. The model will replace the current hatchback of the same name and will compete with Audi Q2 and MINI Countryman. The public debut of the novelty will be held in autumn at the motor show in Paris.
The overall style of DS 3 Crossback corresponds to the older model – the DS 7 Crossback – but some elements are borrowed from the DS 3. In particular, the “shark fins” on the central pillars. The interior also meets the concept set by the DS 7 Crossback.
According to preliminary information, the crossover will be built on a new modular CMP platform, developed including for electric vehicles. Therefore, in addition to versions with petrol and diesel engines, a modification with an electric power unit will appear in the DS 3 Crossback family. Such a car will be able to travel on one charge up to 450 kilometers.
The first electrified model in the DS line was the 7 Crossback. The all-terrain vehicle is equipped with a 300-horsepower hybrid power plant based on a gasoline engine with a capacity of 200 hp. The capacity of lithium batteries of the machine is 13 kilowatt-hours. The power reserve for electric traction is 60 kilometers.
