The debut of the new crossover Nissan Magnite has been postponed
June 23, 2020Earlier it was reported that the novelty should have been presented before the end of this year. However, before 2021 we will not see a compact cross.
Nissan has adjusted its plans for the debut of the new budget Magnite crossover. Initially, it was assumed that the car will be presented in the second half of 2020. On Tuesday, June 23, Nissan’s press service issued a statement stating that the budget Magnite would not appear before the start of 2021. The timing had to be postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic.
The main market for the new items is India. Recently, the budget brand Datsun has left the Indian market and now Nissan is represented there only by the Kicks crossover. Therefore, it is not surprising that the company wanted to bring to the market a budget cross that could compete with the popular KIA and Hyundai cars in India.
Among the possible reasons for postponing the debut of the new car, production problems are also called – the Renault Kiger motherboard for Magnite will not be put into production at all, but the French promise to catch it on time.
Renault Magnite is positioned as a budget crossover – according to preliminary data, 525,000 rupees will be requested for the base version in India
Earlier it became known that Nissan, together with Sunwoda, is developing technology for electric cars. Electrification of cars is one of the main points in the new strategy of the Japanese brand.
