The debut date of the new Toyota Land CruiserJanuary 15, 2020
Toyota Corporation may show a new generation of the popular Land Cruiser SUV in August this year. It is assumed that such a car will not have a V8 engine, in return it will acquire a hybrid power plant. This was reported by the BestCarWeb agency.
The hybrid powertrain will consist of a 3.5-liter V6 engine with a capacity of 300 hp. (356 Nm of torque). It is this engine that will replace the outdated 4.8-liter V8 powerplant, which the automaker no longer offers. It is likely that the V8 power unit of 5.7 liters will also be a thing of the past.
The new Land Cruiser will be based on the TNGA platform, which will be adapted for the frame SUV. Due to this, it will be possible to reduce the weight of the car and partially compensate for the reduction in performance. Instead of the old 6-speed “automatic”, a variator will appear.
The exterior of the Land Cruiser will also change significantly. The Japanese portal calls evolutionary change. The car will be equipped with a trapezoidal radiator grill in the style of the latest models of the brand.
But the assumptions of the Japanese seem, at least, far-fetched. In fact, Land Cruiser waited for the update – the current generation for over 20 years. However, to date, not a single spy shot of the new model has been published, even in dense disguise.
