The date of the world premiere of the new Maserati Grecale has been announcedSeptember 10, 2020
The Italian automaker is actively updating its lineup. Not so long ago, the brand introduced an improved Ghibli, a revised Quattroporte, an updated Levante and the long-awaited MC20. Another high-profile premiere is scheduled for next year.
The Maserati Grecale will be unveiled in the spring of 2021 as a compact SUV. The novelty will share the Giorgio platform with Alfa Romeo Stelvio.
Before the premiere, the Italians have a lot of work to do: the new crossover is still being actively tested. In doing so, Maserati decided to satisfy the curiosity of fans by presenting the first official teaser for Grecale. The name of the novelty continues the trend emerging in Maserati: the SUV was named after the wind that blows in the western Mediterranean and southern France. Recall that the first in this row was the Levante – the brand’s debut crossover.
It is known that the production of new items, which will be slightly more compact than the same Levante, will be dealt with by the Cassino enterprise in Italy. Alfa SUV and Giulia sedan are rolling off the assembly line of this plant today. The new Maserati Grecale will enter the series after its debut.
From the released teaser, it is difficult to understand how much the size of the Grecale and Levante will differ. In general, it is not at all necessary that the novelty will take a step below the first Maserati crossover. They plan to position the novelty with an emphasis on its practicality and dynamism.
At the same time, the novelty will not stand out from the general Maserati family: like all models of the brand, it will receive a purely electric modification. The Italians promise to tell more about such a “green” crossover later.
Earlier, Mercedes-Benz showed a completely new S-class in a teaser. The video that appeared on the Web acquaints fans of the German automaker with the appearance of the novelty, and also allows you to look into the salon.
