The date of the start of sales of the KIA K5 sedan with an extended base has been announcedAugust 24, 2020
Such a modification will be available in the Chinese car market, where cars with long wheelbases are traditionally in high demand.
KIA has announced the launch date for the KIA K5 long wheelbase business sedan. The first buyers will receive their cars on September 7 this year. Recall that this version of the car was developed specifically for the Chinese market. The length of the car has increased by 75 mm and reached 4,980 mm, and the wheelbase has increased by 50 mm and is now 2,900 mm. In this version, the passengers in the back row received the greatest comfort.
With the exception of the dimensions of new products in the exterior are not observed, but the interior has changed much more. The main innovation was the integration of the dashboard and multimedia complex screens, each of which has a diagonal of 12.3 inches. We also note the presence of deflectors of the original form and a stylish gear selector in the form of a swivel washer.
The KIA K5 engine range for the Chinese market will consist of 2 power units. The base version will be offered with a 1.5-liter engine capable of producing 170 hp, while a 2.0-liter turbo engine can develop an output of 240 hp.
The first engine is combined with a 7-band “robot”, and a more powerful motor will receive a pair of 8-speed automatic transmission.
All-wheel drive is out of the question, since such machines are not very popular in China. For the starting configuration of the KIA K5 in China, they ask 161,800 yuan.
