The date of the premiere of the serial crossover BMW X7September 6, 2018
BMW plans to introduce a large crossover X7 in mid-October this year. This is reported by The Drive with reference to the representative of the German brand. The car will be assembled at the American BMW plant in South Carolina, where X3, X4, X5 and X6 are already produced for local and many export markets.
A large crossover will be built on the modular architecture of CLAR, debuting on the flagship sedan 7-Series of the new generation. With the same model, the X7 will have common diesel and gasoline engines, including the most powerful in the V12 lineup. Precisely, there will be a hybrid modification with a power plant from X5 xDrive40e with a total output of 313 horsepower. The all-wheel drive transmission is a habitual xDrive of the last generation.
The novelty will receive a design in the style of the prototype Concept X7 iPerformance, which was presented at last year’s motor show in Frankfurt. The car will differ from the younger BMW crossovers (X5 and X6) primarily with a three-row saloon, which can accommodate six people – two in each row.
The main competitors are the newcomers Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Audi Q7 and Cadillac Escalade. Bavarians intend to sell for 45 thousand BMW X7. As previously reported, the price of the car can be about 130 thousand euros.
