The conceptual crossover Skoda Vision X will receive a production version next year. The premiere of the car is planned for the Geneva Motor Show
Skoda will present a serial version of the Vision X crossover in March next year at the Geneva Motor Show. This is reported by Motor1 with reference to the head of sales and marketing of the company Alain Favi. Most likely, in the model range of the Czech brand, the novelty will take place on the level below the crossover Karoq.
The serial version of Skoda Vision X will be built on the MQB platform of the Volkswagen concern, which already underlies, for example, Seat Arona and Volkswagen T-Roc. The car will be called not Vision X, as a concept. In this case, the car can inherit a hybrid power unit, presented earlier on the prototype. It is based on a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine, running on natural gas. The unit produces 130 hp and 250 Nm of torque.
The engine works in tandem with a starter generator with a belt drive located on the front axle, and a 27-horsepower electric motor at the rear. These units are powered by a 48-volt on-board power supply with a lithium-ion battery of 1.5 kWh and a kinetic energy recovery system during braking. In the standard mode, traction is transmitted to the front wheels, and the rear axle is connected in case of sudden acceleration or for better grip with the roadway.
The concept can accelerate from a place to 100 km / h in 9.3 seconds, and its maximum speed was 200 km per hour. In combined mode, Skoda Vision X is capable of driving more than 600 kilometers. Dynamic characteristics of the serial version of the crossover are not called.
