The Bavarian brand is not going to rest on its laurels after the recent presentation of the “hardcore” sedan M3 CS, and this month will introduce another new car.
As reported by the portal Bmwblog, as part of its strategy for electrifying the lineup, BMW is going to present 25 electrified models by 2025, 12 of which will be fully electric. We are talking about the concept cars presented in Frankfurt, BMW i Vision Dynamics, i3 S, MINI Electric Concept, and also a brand-new car – the BMW i8 Roadster, based on the i8 Spyder Concept.
The soft roof of the BMW i8 Roadster will fold in 14 seconds at speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour, it is also known that the novelty will have a hybrid powerplant under the hood, which will increase in power compared to the coupe version from 362 to 400 horsepower. Also, the capacity of the batteries will be doubled, the suspension adjusted, the work of the iDrive system will be improved.
An aggressive electrification strategy was commented by the head of BMW AG Harald Kruger: “We will increase the share of electrified models of all brands and (of all) the model range, also the Rolls-Royce brand and BMW M.”
In addition to these novelties, the brand stand will show the recently presented models: M3 CS, X7 SAV Concept, 6 Series Gran Turismo, 8 Series Concept, and M5.
