The leadership of the German company is actively working on the new product – it should be on the assembly line in the second half of 2022, and the premiere should take place a few months earlier. The first information about the technical characteristics of the car also appeared.
The car should get a platform from the electric Porsche Taycan. It is expected that the power plant capacity will be 709 horsepower with 1017 Nm of torque. Porsche initially received conflicting information regarding the new electric car.
At the beginning of 2020, it became known that the car will definitely receive an electric version after a generation change, but doubts arose about maintaining the modification with a gasoline engine.
In early March, it became known that it was decided to release two versions simultaneously. They will get a slightly different design, but in general they will retain a similar silhouette. Porsche executives expect the electric version to account for 30-40% of the model’s sales. Today you can buy a Porsche Macan with two powerplant options – the first has a volume of 2.0 liters and a return of 252 hp, and the second with a 2.9-liter volume can produce 440 hp
