Former head of the company Audi Rupert Stadler will remain under arrest – the court of Munich rejected an appeal to release the top manager. This is reported by the publication Automobilewoche.

Rupert Stadler was arrested by the German authorities in June 2018 on suspicion of participating in the “diesel scandal” around the Volkswagen concern. Ex-head of Audi suspected of fraud and participation in an advertising campaign containing deliberately false information. At the moment, the 55-year-old top manager is held in prison in the city of Augsburg in southern Germany.

Let’s remind, the scandal around Volkswagen, connected with the deliberate understating of the level of harmful emissions from diesel engines, began in the fall of 2015.
