Two months ago, we wrote that former manager Daniel Riccardo filed a lawsuit against an Australian rider for allegedly unpaid commissions.

In the High Court of London, hearings on this case began, during which some details of Riccardo’s contract with Renault became known, giving an idea of the degree of material interest that could become an important factor that prompted Daniel to transfer to the factory team of the French car concern.

Here are just a few examples: a fixed contract amount of $ 55 million. It is clear that in addition to this, the team pays all the expenses of the rider associated with participating in the championship, including the services of a physiotherapist and other medical specialists, and also provides him with a road car and compensates for the costs its operation and maintenance is also more than six hundred thousand dollars.

Depending on the results at the end of the season, the driver is paid up to $ 10 million as a bonus, plus he is guaranteed a one-time bonus of $ 1 million for the first victory in the Grand Prix. If Riccardo manages to get her behind the wheel of a Renault, then they will give him this car (although without an engine and without a gearbox) – this gift is valued at $ 2 million.

Former racer manager Glenn Beavis demands payment of about 10 million pounds, assuring that at one time it was he who contributed to the conclusion of the contract with Renault, was engaged in its preparation, and in general it was his idea. Riccardo and his lawyers reject all claims, all the more so since Daniel’s father was the first to speak about the advisability of moving to Renault.

The trial may be delayed, and whose side the court will take, or some compromise will be found, is still unclear. But Renault’s position is known, where they consider what is happening as a private matter of Riccardo and his former manager, therefore they prefer to refrain from commenting.
