The company SsangYong showed a new crossoverFebruary 20, 2018
The Korean brand has published a design sketch of the electric conceptual SUV, which debuts at the Geneva Motor Show.
The prototype was named e-SIV, it is the “ideological continuation” of the SIV-1 and SIV-2 concepts presented in Geneva in 2013 and 2016 respectively. The name of the new crossover is deciphered as an electric Smart Interface Vehicle (“smart car with an intelligent interface”). The length of the e-SIV is 4 460 mm, the width is 1,870 mm, the height is 1,630 mm. The wheelbase is 2 675 mm in size.
The concept is equipped with an electric motor with a power of 190 hp. The maximum speed of the novelty is 150 km / h, the claimed power reserve is about 450 kilometers. Also in the company said that the electric car is equipped with an autopilot.
As previously reported, by 2019 SsangYong plans to launch the successor to the SUV Actyon/Korando. It was assumed that the appearance of the model will be based on SIV-2. The emergence of the prototype e-SIV can talk about changing the design concept of the future crossover. Plus, the upcoming novelty, apparently, will have a fully electric version.
Also in Geneva, the European premiere of the SsangYong Rexton Sports pickup will take place (in some European markets the model will be sold under the name Musso). The truck is built on the basis of a new Rexton SUV. The pickup is already available in the homeland of the brand – in South Korea, where it is offered with a turbodiesel 2.2 with an output of 181 hp, working in tandem with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission Aisin. The new Rexton is equipped with the same engine, while it is equipped with a Mercedes seven-band “automatic”. Both models are presented with a rear or four-wheel drive.
