The Chinese will present a novelty of the MPV segment
January 13, 2021Hongqi, part of the FAW corporation, plans to showcase a novelty in the MPV segment in 2022.
So far, there are few details about the new model, while its front part was declassified on one of the slides. The upcoming minivan is positioned as a “high-end car, great for business travel.”
According to assumptions, the new product will be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine, which will outperform the engine under the hood of the Hongqi H9 (252 hp, 380 Nm). As a transmission, a 7-band robotic gearbox and an 8-speed automatic transmission are expected.
The new model of the Chinese brand should enter the assembly line in June 2022. Of course, there is currently no information about the cost and start date of sales. Thus, a projection of the Russian Aurus Arsenal will appear in China, which will receive a certificate in the near future.
As a reminder, Hongqi is a Chinese brand that was launched in 1958. Initially, cars were produced under this brand exclusively for high-ranking Chinese officials.
In addition, some time ago, it was noted that the Chinese company Hongqi demonstrated a 1400-horsepower Hongqi S9 superhybrid in Beijing. It should be emphasized that this car will be faster than the same Bugatti Chiron.
