Joint venture SAIC-GM-Wuling presented an updated version of the electric car Baojun E100, which is considered the cheapest electric vehicle in the world. After the upgrade, the model, in particular, increased the maximum power reserve without recharging.

A compact electric car, equipped with a single 40-horsepower unit, received an improved battery pack. Thus, the maximum mileage Baojun E100 increased from the previous 155 to 200 kilometers.

Modernization affected the cost of an electric car, the price of which now starts at 46,800 yuan (7,300 dollars), which is 11,000 yuan more expensive (1,7 thousand dollars) of the previous version.

The Baojun E100, similar in appearance to the Smart ForTwo, was introduced in August 2018. The electric car is equipped with ABS, brake force distribution system, electric power steering, pedestrian recognition system, electronic parking brake and parktronic.

In addition, the basic equipment includes a multimedia complex with a seven-inch display and a Wi-Fi access point. Customers of the top versions will also be offered a touch screen, an air purifying installation and a system of keyless access to the salon.
