The cheapest Toyota crossover will enter the market under a new brandJanuary 14, 2020
Toyota and Daihatsu are going to offer customers a budget crossover under the new brand. The market debut of the novelty, which is called the equivalent of low-cost SUVs Toyota Raize and Daihatsu Rocky, is scheduled for the spring of 2020.
The most budget cross from Toyota and Daihatsu so far has only the factory index Perodua D55l. Recall that the Perodua brand is partially owned by Daihatsu, a subsidiary of Toyota. Cars under this brand are leaving the factory in Malaysia. Photos of the future news publishes publication KeyAuto. Judging by the pictures, the “state employee” is a turned version of Daihatsu Rocky, the debut of which was organized in the fall of 2019 at the Tokyo Motor Show. Of the differences – a modified head optics, “retouched” taillights and a new radiator grille.
In length, the crossover reaches 3,995 mm, and the volume of its trunk boasts the best indicator in the class – 396 liters.
The Perodua D55l is powered by a single liter 1KR-VET turbo engine with 98 hp, combined with the D-CVT variator. Drive – front. The SUV’s arsenal includes a leather interior, a spectacular panoramic roof with a sunroof, adaptive cruise control, an automatic emergency braking system, 17-inch alloy wheels, etc.
Price lists for a budget SUV will be declassified closer to the start of sales. For the new Toyota Raize in Japanese car dealerships, we will have to pay about 1 million rubles, translated into our money. In their homeland, Toyota Raize and Daihatsu Rocky caused a real stir: the line behind them stretched out three months in advance.
