The charged Audi RS6 station wagon has become a prototype in a retro styleNovember 11, 2020
Audi Corporation has shared pictures of a non-standard variation of the “charged” RS6 wagon.
The new car has got a GTO prefix and some retro-style racing parts. The project is designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Quattro all-wheel drive system. The special modification is inspired by the Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO. It borrowed the RS6 body paint from it, and it was also equipped with white wheels of the original design and exhaust pipes brought out to the sides of the body through the sills.
In the cabin, it is worth noting the presence of a roll cage and racing bucket seats, which have multi-point seat belts, which are based on a very light carbon plastic frame. The station wagon does not have a back sofa. At the same time, it is currently unknown whether there is a concept with a live teaser.
The Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO had a very short sports career. He only raced in the 1989 season. Moreover, by its beginning, the car had not yet been completed, and it missed the Grand Prix in Daytona and Sebring. The four-wheel drive sedan had a 700-hp (720 Nm) in-line five cylinder engine with a volume of 2.2 liters. The motor functioned in conjunction with a 6-speed manual transmission. The car accelerated to 100 km / h in 3.1 seconds and accelerated to a maximum of 310 km / h.
In addition, it was recently noted that the German company Audi showed a productive electric car RS E-Tron GT in a new teaser. It should be emphasized that sales of this car should start next year.
