The capacity of the serial Aston Martin Rapide AMR exceeded 600 hpJune 13, 2018
The British manufacturer presented an extreme version of its model.
In the pre-series version of the Aston Martin, the Rapide AMR was shown last year as part of the Geneva Motor Show, and now the company “rolled out” the product version of the car. The prefix AMR in the title tells us that the construction of the new modification was carried out by the division of Aston Martin Racing, responsible for the production of the most powerful models, which, rather, place on the track, rather than civil roads.
The key difference between the version of the Rapide AMR and the standard model was the engine. More precisely, the engine there is installed the same – a mighty V12 in volume of 5.9 liters, but its power is increased from 560 to 603 hp, although the maximum torque has not changed and is 630 Nm. A new exhaust system has also been installed, with which the engine began to sound somewhat brighter. The dynamics remained the same – from zero to the first 100 km/h sports car accelerates in 4.4 seconds, although the maximum has grown from 327 km / h to 330 km / h. The manufacturer also states that the car is adapted for driving on a racing track.
AMR specialists retuned the Rapide suspension, lowering the ground clearance by 10 mm, installed carbon-ceramic brakes, although the size of the discs remained the same – the front 400 mm and rear 360 mm, upgraded the ventilation channels to enhance the cooling of the brakes, and 20-inch wheels , for the first time for Aston Martin, replaced with 21-inch.
Of course, there are also stylistic differences in the novelty. Aston Martin Rapide AMR can be identified by a grid radiator grille and an advanced aerodynamic body kit: recycled bumpers, door sills, front splitter, rear diffuser and rear spoiler. All elements, except the bumpers, are made of carbon fiber. In addition, the AMR version received ring-shaped navigation lights, as well as trimmed from the suede and carbon interior. As an option, the steering wheel is offered from the Aston Martin One-77 hypercar.
The British will release the Aston Martin Rapide AMR limited edition of 210 cars at a price of 195,000 pounds, while the usual Rapide costs from 153 thousand pounds.
Note, in the European market for the entire 2017 sold only 124 Aston Martin Rapide, and for January-April 2018 – 26 pieces.
