The BMW M5 F90 produces more power than the automaker saysAugust 29, 2018
We not once once published news that this or that car shows other characteristics, than the factory-manufacturer declares. The same story is also observed with the new BMW M5 sedan in the body of the F90.
The characteristics of the stock sedan were checked by specialists from the tuning studio Evolve Automotive. Soon they will present a package of modifications for the M5, but, as it always does before boost-up and modification of the attachments, the Bavarian car was tested on the stand, during which the technical parameters of the engine were removed.
Under the hood of the BMW M5 F90 there is a bi-turbo eight S63B44T4 with a volume of 4.4 liters, the capacity of which is 600 horsepower, the torque reaches 750 Nm. After the dino test, it turned out that the German engine actually produces 631 horsepower at 5,750 rpm, and the torque reaches 745 Nm in the range from 2,000 to 5,750 rpm, the peak torque reaches 813 Nm. There is a motor with an eight-speed automatic transmission ZF, which transfers the entire power of the motor to the all-wheel drive.
However, there is one “but”. Experts Evolve Automotive tested the car in the all-wheel drive mode, although, as is known, the BMW M5 F90 has the ability to switch the transmission to the rear-wheel drive mode. It is possible that in this case the motor will produce more power, although it is impossible to exclude the reverse option – a limitation not only in power and torque.
