The BMW M140i 2019 is being tested at the NürburgringAugust 21, 2018
The German company continues to experience on the road a new generation of hatchback M140i. The latest photos of spies show that the car is still in development and nothing more. The photos are published on the Motor1 website.
Photos and video models posted on the network back in March this year. Since the news about the novelty leaked to the network, no other information has appeared. Even spy shots of the car do not show anything new, as each prototype is covered with an almost identical dense camouflage. Latest images of the details do not disclose, only prove that the car is still in development.
It is already known that the next generation of the 1 series was transferred from the rear to the front drive. The car will increase slightly in size, due to which there will be more room for passengers and luggage. We also already know that the M140i is likely to lose two cylinders. The two-liter power unit with a turbo-supercharging should provide capacity of 320 – 340 hp. Almost the same power produces a six-cylinder engine of the current generation – 335 hp.
According to the latest rumors, the manufacturer decided not to produce a three-door version of the hatchback. As in the case with models of other brands due to a fall in demand, BMW brought it out of production. So the five-door presented in the photos will be the only one in the line.
It is expected that the debut of the novelty will not be delayed, and it will be held in October at the Paris Motor Show. And it is also assumed that the full-fledged sports version will not be seen by the light. But this does not mean that it can not be produced by a subsidiary of M Performance.
