American buyers continue to give preference to Japanese cars. 8 representatives of the Japanese car industry were in the TOP-10 at once.
Experts have named the best-selling cars in the US car market for January 2021. In total, sales of new cars exceeded the mark of 1 million copies, and the decline in sales compared to January 2021 was 3.3%. The tenth position goes to the mid-size crossover Mazda CX-5, which was sold 13 583 times. The growth in demand for this model grew by 5.2%.
Small car Honda Civic was ninth with 15 475 units. Note a strong decline in sales of this model – “minus” 22.8%. The large Toyota Highlander crossover became the eighth (16,774 units, -1.4%). On the seventh and sixth lines are two more large cars – the Ford Explorer and the Toyota Tacoma pickup. The former was sold 18,095 times and the latter 18,878 times. We also note the positive dynamics of these models – plus 11.1% and 10.3%, respectively.
Despite the love of Americans for large SUVs and pickups, two Toyota sedans are located in 5th and 4th places. The mid-size Corolla sold 19,266 units. (-17.9%), while the Camry business sedan was sold 21,771 times (-12.3%).
“Bronze” of the rating goes to the Japanese crossover Honda CR-V (25,806 units, -0.8%), and the second place is occupied by Toyota RAV4 with 31,364 units.
The Ford F-Series pickup became the absolute leader in the ranking in the US market in January – 55,276 Americans bought this car last month, which is 5.5% less than in January 2020.
