A certain buyer bought one of the most successful rally cars at the Aguttes auction for 730 thousand euros, in which the multiple world champion Sebastien Loeb competed. This information was shared by L’Est Republicain.
The sold Citroen DS 3 WRC has over 80 won special stages, 16 podiums and the status of the “last official” car of Sebastien Loeb. According to the auctioneers, this particular car – chassis number 17 – from 2012 to 2016 took part in 32 stages of the world championship, and its pilots took first places 11 times during this period.
On this hatch, Loeb became the world rally champion for the last, ninth time, and two of his colleagues – Chris Meek and Dani Sordo – managed to win for the first time. In turn, Mick led the car to his last victory, it happened in 2016.
The hatchback has a 1.6-liter Citroen turbo engine producing 300 hp, an all-wheel drive system and a 6-speed sequential transmission. Before selling the car, it was “dressed” in one of the 2013 liveries. According to the sellers, the car is in excellent working order.
