The Austrian startup Kreisel Electric, in cooperation with Rosenbauer and Linz AG, has developed a fire truck with a fully electric power plant. This is reported by Electrek.

The novelty is built on the basis of a light truck Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, which was equipped with a battery pack weighing 620 kilograms. Batteries with a capacity of 86 kWh allow firefighting to pass without recharging up to 160 kilometers. Firefighter “Sprinter” is equipped with an electric motor, developing 120 kW, which is equivalent to 163 horsepower.

The company Kreisel Electric is famous for its projects to create unusual electric cars. For example, the Austrians equipped an electric motor with a classic racing sport prototype Porsche 910, capable of accelerating from place to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.

One of the latest projects Kreisel Electric has become an SUV Hummer H1 with an electric motor, presented last fall. At the premiere of the novelty was present Arnold Schwarzenegger, for whom the firm Kreisel Electric previously produced a “green” Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
