The assembly of the new Mercedes-Benz G-Class has startedMay 18, 2018

Recall, the public premiere of the new Mercedes-Benz G-Class took place in January this year as part of the Detroit Motor Show. Now the assembly of the model at the Magna Steyr factory in Austrian Graz has been started. By the way, Gelentwagen is released here since 1979.
The model replaced the generation, but retained the recognizable “box-like” appearance, although it increased in size – the SUV added in length 53 mm – up to 4,715 mm and 121 mm in width – up to 1,881 mm. The weight is reduced by 170 kg.
The engine has so far announced one – the turbocharged four-liter eight M178 in various variants of forcing, depending on the version. The seven-speed automatic transmission replaced the nine-speed – 9G-Tronic.
Salon G-Class, designed in the style of the latest S-Class and E-Class has become more spacious. In top-end versions, the G-Class is already getting the traditional Mercedes-Benz panel with two 12.3-inch displays – one serves as a “device” and the other for an infotainment system.
Earlier it became known that Mercedes-Benz plans to expand the G-Class family with new versions. The SUV will receive a more powerful AMG G 63 S and a luxurious one – from the Maybach unit.
