All cars collector collected in just two years
American Honda dealer Gary Duncan has collected one of the most unexpected collections of Japanese cars. In a warehouse in the small town of Chrischesberg, Virginia, he stores about 700 cars: retro-cars Nissan Figaro, Suzuki Carry trucks and Honda Beat roadsters. And the first car appeared in Gary in 2016.
Autoclassics says that it all started with Duncan won a trip to the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show, where he first saw the Nissan Figaro. Gary even tried to buy a car, but he was refused, as Nissan did not plan to sell the model in the USA. He also could not import it – the legislation allowed importing only cars older than 25 years.
In December 2016, Duncan bought the first cars: a Nissan S-Cargo delivery van and a Japanese fire truck. After a while some more fire engines appeared in his garage. Now in the collection of Gary about 700 cars, some of which are his own and are not intended for sale. Among them: two Nissan Figaro, Subaru Sambar, Mazda Porter, Autozam AZ-1 and Honda City Turbo.
Also among the exhibits there are several hearses based on the Nissan Prdent, Toyota Century, Mercedes-Benz and Mitsubishi Delica minivans.
Most of the cars from the Gary Duncan collection are available for purchase. So, Nissan Figaro will cost from 24 to 40 thousand dollars, Honda Beat – 4.5-7 thousand dollars
