The 350-hp Hyundai Veloster N TCR is featured in DetroitJanuary 15, 2019
The South Korean novelty will compete with the German hot hatchback RS3 LMS TCR and Golf GTI TCR, as well as the Japanese Civic Type R TCR. Veloster N TCR can already be ordered at a price of $ 155,000. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in March of this year.
Building on the success of rider Brian Hurt last season of the Pirelli World Challenge, the guys from Hyundai are showing a new contender for the championship. At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit (USA), the Hyundai Veloster N TCR was shown, which will compete with the Honda Civic Type R TCR, Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR and Audi RS3 LMS TCR as part of the 2019 International Motor Sports Competition.
In the upcoming season, the Hert team will prepare two cars – one piloted by veterans Michael Lewis and Mark Wilkins, and the other new recruits Mason Filippi and Harry Gottsaker at the age of 20 and 18, respectively. The cars will use a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine for 350 horsepower.
The turbocharged engine with direct injection is connected to a 6-speed sequential gearbox that transmits power to the front axle, where a mechanical differential with an external preload regulator controls the torque between the wheels. Braking ability is provided by 380-mm ventilated front and 278-mm rear brake discs with 6-piston Brembo calipers on the front wheels and 2-piston calipers on the rear wheels.
