The 2021Buick GL6 minivan gets a major updateNovember 15, 2020
This model, as before, is sold only in the Chinese car market. The redesigned GL6 gets a mild hybrid and new technologies.
The updated Buick GL6 will be presented on November 19. This minivan brand was created specifically for China.
After the upgrade, the car received a new “mild” hybrid transmission. It includes a 1.3 liter turbo engine, a 48 V electric motor and a battery. Such a power plant is combined with a 6-speed gearbox. The hybrid minivan has a more economical fuel consumption (improvement by 7.6%): 6.1 liters for every hundred kilometers traveled.
The list of equipment of the new minivan includes the eConnect 3.0 system, which supports voice control, interacts with smartphones and is able to update “over the air”. Also, the novelty got a cooler audio system, improved air conditioning and a new three-spoke steering wheel. The seats in the third row have become more comfortable, and the 2 + 2 + 2 layout with armrests of the first and second rows of seats guarantees the best space and convenience in the segment. At the same time, the minivan gets over 40 storage compartments and a spacious trunk.
Already in the “base”, the minivan is equipped with lane control systems and monitoring of “blind” zones, as well as an automatic parking assistant, etc.
Meanwhile, Nissan has shown the updated Qashqai crossover in an intriguing teaser. The new generation of cars will be presented next spring. The SUV will receive the CMF-C platform, which will make the car lighter.
