The 2021 Cadillac Escalade SUV has very low fuel consumptionMay 28, 2020
It is reported that the standard 6.2-liter V8 engine of the new generation full-size SUV Cadillac Escalade consumes 13.83 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers in a combined cycle.
There are hardly anyone who plans to buy a new generation full-size Cadillac Escalade. whose Super Cruise Intelligent Cruise Control system alone costs an extra $ 2,500, will take care of fuel consumption.
According to new data released by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Escalade 2021 model year, equipped with a standard 6.2-liter V8 and mono-drive, consumes only 13.83 liters of fuel per 100 km of track in a combined cycle (highway + city) .
Meanwhile, for an all-wheel drive Escalade with the same engine, this figure is only 14.7 liters. Thus, the Escalade SUV is one of the least efficient SUVs in terms of fuel consumption, although at the time of writing this article we still do not have fuel economy indicators for the GMC Yukon with the same 6.2-liter V8.
The 6.2-liter V8 that the Escalade is equipped with may be relatively inefficient. Its power is 420 horsepower. It is connected to the same 10-speed automatic transmission that you get on the GMC Yukon. Thanks to this engine and gearbox, the towing capacity of the Escalade SUV is 3,764 kg.
Cadillac announces that the 3.0-liter Escalade turbocharged diesel engine delivers 277 bhp. (624 nm) will also be presented for the SUV, but a little later. So far, the American brand has not published data on diesel engine fuel consumption.
The Cadillac Escalade 2021 will go on sale later this year at a starting price of $ 76,195. The price of the long base version of the Escalade ESV starts at $ 79,195
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that Cadillac has published prices for the next-generation Escalade SUV. The American automaker has published a price list for its next-generation luxury full-size SUV, the Cadillac Escalade.
