At the disposal of the newspaper “Autoreview” were the first official photos of the all-terrain BMW X5 of the new generation. The premiere of the model should be held in the very near future.
New X5 will be built on a modular platform CLAR, which can now be found on the 7-Series of the latest generation. Crossover will become easier due to the use of high-strength steels and composite materials, as well as receive a new steering and adaptive air suspension.
It is expected that the range of engines of the BMW X5 will include gasoline and diesel turbo four in capacity of two liters, issuing 252 and 231 respectively, and three-liter six with a capacity from 265 to 340 horsepower. The top option will be an eight-cylinder turbo engine with a capacity of 4.4 liters, which produces 462 hp. In the charged M-version, the output of this unit will increase to about 600 hp.
It is also expected the appearance of a hybrid modification with a power plant with a capacity of 390 hp. It will be built on the basis of a two-liter petrol engine and is likely to receive a variant with the possibility of recharging the batteries from household electricity.
The equipment of the next BMW X5 will include an electronic instrument panel, a new multimedia complex, an active rear M-differential, five-zone climate control.
