The Belgian team Hamofa Motor Sport built a racing version of the green sport car BMW i8. The car lost a twin-engine hybrid powerplant – instead of it behind the driver is installed a V8 engine from the BMW Z4, serving in GTE and GT3 categories.
The novelty was called BMW i8 GTR. At the heart of the chassis of the mid-engined race sports car is a tubular frame developed by the French company Solution F. The delivery of the 4.0-liter atmospheric eight-cylinder engine of the BMW S65 is 547 horsepower. The weight of the car is 1100 kilograms.
The standard BMW i8 is equipped with a hybrid unit consisting of a three-cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 1.5 liters, an electric motor and blocks of lithium-ion batteries. The total output is 374 horsepower. From the place to the 100 km/h i8 is able to accelerate in 4.4 seconds. The maximum speed of a sports car is 250 kilometers per hour.
