That’s how the giant blades of wind generators are transported. Impressive!August 13, 2018
The Chinese manufacturer of trucks CIMC Vehicles has posted on its YouTube channel a video showing how huge blades of wind turbines are being transported. To transport the nodes of the wind farm, which was built on Baoding Mountain, used diesel trucks with a motor that produces 480 horsepower and 2,200 Nm of torque.
The clip notes that such work requires high accuracy and makes special requirements for vehicles. Machines must be powerful, maneuverable and reliable, as roads abound with turns and steep inclines.
To simplify the transportation of blades, the Norwegian company came up with a special trailer with a high ground clearance and swivel axles. It was equipped with a hydraulic lift, which allows lifting the trailer for passage, for example, over bridges.
