That’s all we know about the new generation of the Ford F-150 pickup truckMay 5, 2020
As part of this article, we have collected everything that is currently known about a completely new generation of the full-size American Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The release of a new generation of the popular car is not an easy task for the automaker. This complicates the situation especially when it comes to the Ford F-150, which is America’s best-selling truck over the past 43 years.
In this article we have collected all the facts that we know about the long-awaited full-sized novelty. It is expected that the updated version of the model will also receive a frame body structure and a huge number of available engines. Several trim levels and cab configurations will be offered – regular cabs, SuperCab and four-door SuperCrew models.
Expect to see a traditional truck design with powerful axles and transfer boxes. The suspension setting should also be traditional, with various types of performance that will be used for various tasks – from the transportation of light loads to towing in harsh conditions.
A more productive version of the Raptor with suspension is also expected, which will be even more oriented to overcome off-road conditions. Of course, the big news is that the next-generation Ford F-150 will be offered with hybrid and all-electric power plants.
The new pickup should receive a very rich list of various security systems, driver assistance – cameras, sensors, touch screens in the cabin. Many convenient features will be available through a large infotainment screen, which is rumored to be 15.5 inches in size.
It seems that the design of the new product will not receive strong changes and will be recognizable. New headlights with a vertical design should appear, as well as LED DRLs. Several types of false radiator grill will be available.
Like the modern model, the new F-150 will be offered with a huge number of engines. It is reported that the base engine will be a naturally aspirated 3.3-liter V6 with a power of 290 hp. There will be a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 rated at 325 hp, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost rated at 375 hp, and a 5.0-liter V8 engine rated at 395 hp. The diesel lineup will feature a 3.0-liter Power Stroke V6.
The basic version of the F-150 should cost about $ 30,000, and more expensive versions with the highest possible options can cost more than $ 75,000.
It is expected that the Ford F-150 of 2021 will debut in the spring of 2020, possibly in late April, and production will begin in late summer. The Coronavirus pandemic has certainly changed schedules not only for Ford, but for every automaker on the planet. As of early May, Ford was not talking about the official debut date of its new product, but a recent report suggests that production will begin on September 28 at the Ford assembly plant in Dearborn (USA), and then on October 26 at the F-Series plant in Kansas City ( USA). Provided that these dates are accurate, the debut of a new truck should take place by the end of spring or the beginning of summer of this year.
